  Elwood J. Cable, 79, of Soap Hollow, left us for Heaven, his eternal home, on
  June 2, 2006, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate. Born Aug. 17, 1926, in Conemaugh
  Township, son of Charles and Nannie (Livingston) Cable. Preceded in death by
  parents and sister, Grace Cable. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Amy
  Alwine; sons, ElRoy, married to the former Jean Steckler, Somerset, and Merlin,
  married to the former Debra Thomas, Pretty Prairie, Kan.; daughters, Carolyn,
  married to James Sprunger, Goshen, Ind., and Carma, married to Martin Dean,
  Elkhart, Ind.; grandchildren, Jay and Devin Cable of Somerset, Amos Cable and
  wife, Hallie, of Yoder, Kansas, Joe Cable, Pretty Prairie, Kansas, Lance
  Sprunger, Goshen, Ind., and Christopher, Alex, Charles, Eric and Jonathan Dean
  of Elkhart, Ind.; and sister, LaVerne Speigle, Arbutus Park Manor, formerly of
  Hollsopple. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
  Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral
  Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
  Stahl Mennonite Church. Pastor Tom Croyle officiating. No viewing at the
  church. Interment, church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Teen
  Breakfast Club, c/o Ron Spory, 125 Noble Road, Johnstown, Pa. 15905.
