The accident is attributed to the blowing out of a tire when the car was running about 40 miles an hour. The man who sustained fatal injuries was Joseph Caldrone, aged 45 years, of Jenners. Caldrone suffered a punctured lung, fractures of the skull, right leg and several ribs, lacerations of the scalp, forehead, face and left hand and a fracture of the third finger of the left hand. He was taken to Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, where he died at 9:10 a.m. Monday. Joseph Donio, also of Jenners, sustained lacerations of the right knee and an injury to the right shoulder. He was given surgical attention at the office of Dr. A. M. Uphouse, of Stoyestown, where Caldrone also was given first-aid before being sent to the hospital. Three other men in the cherry-picking party escaped uninjured. Jack Donio, aged 22, a brother of Joseph Donio and nephew of Caldrone, was at the wheel of the car when the accident happened.
