Caler, of Larimer Township, died in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital on Friday morning, March 27th, after a short illness due to paralysis. She was admitted to the hospital the previous Wednesday evening. She was aged 54 years, 6 months and 27 days. Her untimely death came as a shock to her family and a large circle of friends. She was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Elizabeth Beal and a sister of the late Andrew O. Beal of Sand Patch. Mrs. Caler was a woman of exceptional charm and sterling qualities which made her one of the outstanding women of her community. She was a devoted wife and mother and most kind and sympathetic neighbor. The esteem in which she was held was manifested by the large outpouring of people at her funeral. She was an active member of the White Oak Lutheran Church for many years. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the edifice in which she delighted to worship. Friends came from far and near to show their respect for the deceased lady. The church was filled to overflowing with sorrowing relatives and friends. Many were obligated to remain on the outside. The services were conducted by Rev. S. D. Sigler of Salisbury. A male quartet from Meyersdale consisting of C. W. and W. H. Baldwin, R. H. Philson and Paul M. Critchfield assisted with the singing. A choir made up of singers of the different churches of the community also took part in the services. Interment was made in the White Oak Cemetery. J. L. Tressler of Meyersdale was the undertaker in charge. Mrs. Caler is survived by her husband, one of the prominent citizens of Larimer Township, five sons and three daughters. The children are: A. F.
