Calvert, 89, formerly of 405 Hickory St., Hollidaysburg, died March 12, 2004, at Presbyterian Home, Hollidaysburg. Born May 9, 1914 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Milton and Ruth (Beck) Logue. Also preceded in death by husband, Boyd L. Calvert July 16, 1995 to whom she was married Nov. 27, 1936 in Cumberland, Md., and brother Wayne in 2003. Survived by children, David and his wife, Colleen, Duncansville, Linda Helsley and her husband, David, Somerset, and Barbara Sparr and her husband, Ed, Alexandria; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was very active as a member of Frankstown Park Missionary church. She was a piano teacher for many years, teaching hundreds of students. A 1932 graduate of Altoona High School, she taught Sunday school, enjoyed crocheting, and was a Republican committee woman. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Frankstown Park Missionary Church. The Rev. Roland Cadle officiating. Interment, Alto Reste Cemetery.
