Cameron, 68, of Imler RD 1, formerly of Roaring Spring, died May 6, 1989, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring. Born May 31, 1920, in Somerset County, son of the late Herbert and Verda (Ellenberger) Cameron. He was married twice. Preceded in death by first wife, former Lois Rhodes. Survived by his wife, the former Mary Claar; 3 children: Debbie Gary of Altoona; Gordon H. of Claysburg RD 1; and Penny L. Waldbridge of Elgin, Ill.; 2 stepchildren: Elaine Smith of East Freedom RD and Alan L. Claar of Claysburg; 6 grandchildren. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years, and was on the Executive and Administrative boards. Retired in 1985 from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. after 37 years of service. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, by Pastors Charles Whitacre and Samuel Schmitthenner. Interment, Pike Cemetery, Brotherton.
