Her body was discovered at 9 a.m. by Earl Hoover who was fishing in the dam. He told county detective William P. Dively that when he saw the body, he called Walter Tressler, Garrett who in turn notified the Garrett fire department and authorities. Firemen responded immediately, removed the body and tried artificial respiration, but without success. After detective Dively, county coroner Dr. A. M. Uphouse and state police investigated the drowning, a verdict of suicide was issued. Dr. Uphouse set the time of death between 7 and 9 a.m. Mrs. Cameron attempted to end her life on two earlier occasions, it was intimated by relatives who said she returned home in wet clothing both Sunday and Monday before the fateful Thursday. She had been in poor health since the death of her husband two years ago, said relatives, and worry over her condition which had caused her to undergo three major surgical operations recently, was given as the probable reason for suicide. Although her home was in Ursina, Mrs. Cameron had been keeping house for her aged father for several weeks while her sister, Annie, was visiting her daughter in San Francisco, Calif. She was born in Garrett in 1896. Besides her father, she is survived by a son, Eugene Cameron of Ursina, a daughter, Miss Mary Cameron, an employee of the Somerset Community Hospital, and the following brothers and sisters: Jacob Nickalo, Shanksville; George Nickalo, Garrett; Richard Nickalo, Harrison; Mrs. Ida Tressler, Mrs. Bessie Ann Swindell, Garrett; and Mrs. William Lee, Braddock. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. The Rev. George Coffman officiated, and interment was made in the Ursina cemetery.
