CAMPBELL Hester (Meyers) Campbell, 80 of Stamford, Conn., formerly of Confluence and Meyersdale, died June 10, 1973 in Greenwish (Conn.) Hospital. Born Aug. 11 1892, in Meyersdale, she was daughter of the late Charles Peter and Annie (Berkley) Meyers. She was preceded in dead by her husband, Harry Lorne Campbell, in 1957; also by her parents; a sister, Mrs. Florence Meyers West, of Ithaca, N. Y., and a brother, Berkley Meyers of Somerset. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Annie Lorne Campbell, of Stamford, Conn.; and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Billings, of Racine, Wis. Mrs. Campbell formerly taught school here and in Confluence. She was born here in the property which has since become Maple Manor, and had recently contributed some of the early furnishings of the homstead to the Maple Festival here. She was a great-granddaughter of Peter Meyers, for whom Meyersdale was named. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Greenwich, Conn., where she was a resident for many years prior to her recent move to Stamford; and also belonged to the Great Crossing Chapter of the DAR in Addison, and to the American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, with Rev. William Tafel of St. Francis in the Fields officiating.
