His wife, Mary L. Hoover Campbell, died May 16,1982. He retired in 1964 as a general foreman after 35 years' service in the sintering plant. Mr. Campbell was a consultant in the operation of the company's project in San Paulo, Brazil, in 1968. Born in Ayreshire, Scotland, he was the son of the late James and Jane Ferguson Campbell. He was a resident of Meyersdale from 1901-1927. He had helped with the Meyersdale Fire Company; was active with sports, baseball and minstrel shows that were presented by the Fire Company. Surviving are a son, Jack A. of Bethlehem; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Tressler, of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Janet Barnhart, of Cleveland, Ohio, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel J., in 1982, a son, William M., in 1965, and a brother, William and a sister, Mary Clapper. Services were held at the Wallace M. Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, with the Rev. Robert W. Bouder officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem. The Republic, March 15, 1984 [C0063]
