(Spaugy) Carder, aged 61, wife of Eli Carder, died suddenly last Sunday at the Carder home in Northampton Township, the result of torn ligaments, suffered in a fall at the Carder farm several weeks ago. Mrs. Carder suffered considerably from shock and this is believed to have resulted in a heart attack to which she succumbed. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Ruth, Clara and William, all at home; Mrs. Susan Hutzel, of Wellersburg; Mrs. Lucy Bittner, of Fairhope, and Mrs. Lucinda Martz, of Glencoe. She was a sister of Walter Spaugy, of Northampton Township; Mrs. James Spangler, of Somerset, and Jacob Spaugy, of Garrett. The body was prepared for burial by Undertakers J. N. Johnson & Son, of Berlin. Funeral services were conducted at the Carder home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. Gindlesperger, pastor of the Mt. Lebanon Reformed Church. Interment was made in the Kammerer Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 11, 1930
