Carey, 75, Patriot Manor, Somerset, died Aug. 1, 1995, in the manor. Born June 3, 1920, in Somerset, son of the late John and Rebecca (Darrah) Carey. Preceded in death by a son, Jay Michael; his wife, Dorothy Mostoller; brothers: John, Edgar, Leon; sisters: Magdalene Carey, Eleanor Brennon, Helen Schrock and Marguerite Carey. Survived by one son, Michael James, Somerset RD 4, and one daughter, Roxanne Speelman, Friedens RD 2; three grandchildren: Shannon, Timothy, and Lauren Speelman, and one sister, Mrs Herb (Betty) Gnagy, Somerset, and a number of nieces, and nephews. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of St Peter's Catholic Church; F.O.E. 1801, Somerset; VFW Post 554, Somerset. Retired member of the Laborers International Union. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where wake service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Church, Msgr. Samuel Tomaselli officiating.
