(Mike) Carey, 71, West Main Street, Somerset, died August 27, 1983, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born August 6, 1912, in Meyersdale, son of the late Thomas E. and Edna (Dayton) Carey. He is survived by wife, Sarah (Williams) Carey; two daughters, Wanda Jane Klotz, and Marcy Ann Lichty, both of Somerset, and 10 grandchildren. He was the brother of Hubert A. (Bill) Carey, Rockwood; Sara Weigle, Berlin; and Ethlyn Ringer, Somerset. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eddythe Leazier. He was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church; retired employee of Exxon Corp.; veteran of World War II. Served as a sergeant in U.S. Army Air Force, World War II and the Korean Conflict. Death ends a marriage union of 45 years. Friends were received at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services were conducted with Dr. William T. Doncaster officiating. Interment, Weller Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Coronary Care Unit, Somerset Community Hospital. The Republic, September 1, 1983 [C0115]
