Carey, 88, of William St. Somerset, died March 28 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 3, 1888 in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Michael and Ella (Johnson) Carrie. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Edna Dayton, brother, Leo, and sister, Virginia. He is survived by these children: Hubert A., Rockwood RD 1; Raymond L., Somerset; Mrs. Sarah Weigle, Berlin RD 1; Mrs. Ethlyn Ringer, Somerset; Mrs. James H. (Eddythe) Leazier, Jeannette; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, FOE and Brotherhood of Railway Carman. He was a retired employe of the B and O Railroad after 47 years. Requiem Mass was held Wednesday, at St. Peters Catholic Church with Rev. Father Samuel Tomaselli. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Meyersdale Republic, March 31, 1977 [C0117]
