Born Oct. 17, 1993 in Mount Pleasant, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Mitchell) Carleton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and George. He is survived by his wife, Joan A. (Davis) Carleton; a son, Clay Carleton, Accident; two daughters and their children, Mrs. Donald (Leah) DeLong of Markham, Va., and Rachel and Aaron, and Mrs. Daymond (Lori) Schmuck of Accident and Hannah, Levi, Esther and Abigail. He is also survived by three sisters, Anna Sutton of Weirton, W.Va., and Jessie Gowton and Angeline Gowton, both of Mount Pleasant. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served as a corporal. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant VFW and was a farmer. Friends were received June 1 at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry. The body was taken to the Eugene Saloom Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant, where friends were received June 2. Services were conducted June 3 at the Saloom Funeral Home. Interment was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. New Republic, June 9, 1994 [C0118]
