  Gibson F. Carlson, 62, Boswell RD 1, died Oct. 26, 1982, at Windber Hospital.
  Born July 28, 1920, in Wellscreek, Somerset County, son of Oscar and Anna
  (Scurfield) Carlson.  Preceded in death by parents, three brothers and four
  sisters.  Survived by widow, the former Betty L. McNutt; and these children:
  Doris Elaine, wife of Richard Beegle, Richland Township; John P., married to
  the former Mary Jeanne Varrin, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Faye Carrolle, wife
  of Rick Patrick, Carlisle; seven grandchildren.  Brother of Bernard, Boswell
  RD 2; and Mrs. Bernice Salla, Ebensburg. Member of Hopewell Methodist Church.
  Army veteran of World War II and member of VFW, Hollsopple Post.  Friends
  received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227
  Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with
  the Rev. Walter M. Willey officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.
