Carlson, 73, of Ocean City, Md., and Cape Coral, Fla. died Oct. 21, 1994, in his residence in Ocean City. Rev. Carlson was born July 26, 1921, in Braddock, Pa., to the late Martin W. and Almeda (Camberg) Carlson. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving in the China-Burma-India theater of operation from 1943 to 1945. He was a graduate of University of Pittsburgh ('43) and Gettysburg Seminary ('49). He first served as assistant pastor at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Hanover, Pa. ('49 to '52); then as pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, ('52 to '54); Christ Second Lutheran Church, Altoona, ('54 to '62) and then 20 years, until his retirement ('63 to '83) at Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg; after retirement, he served as interim pastor at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Ocean City (Jan. '86 to Oct. '86) as well as assisting at Christ Lutheran Church, Cape Coral, Fla. Survived by his wife, Norma R. Carlson; 4 daughters: Gloria E. Hoffman of Lewisberry, Pa.; Mary C. Ochse of Ocean City, Md.; Ruth E. Carlson of Baltimore, Md., and Sarah L. Park of York, Pa.; 2 sons: David A. Carlson of Erie, Pa., and Paul E. Carlson of Bellwood, Pa.; a sister, Isabel Mack of Pittsburgh; a brother, Edwin Carlson of Oakland, Md.; 7 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 1994, in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg, with the Revs. Timothy L. Hoffman and Robert Free co-officiating. Burial will be in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
