Philip and James' Catholic Church, Meyersdale, Friday evening, Mrs. Eugenia Carouse, 53, died shortly afterwards in the church rectory. She was pronounced dead by a physician upon his arrival. Coroner P. C. Dosch, who conducted the examination, was told that the woman had walked in haste up a hill so as not to be late to Lenten service. She was carried to the rectory after becoming ill. Rev. Father Howard T. Miller, rector, administered the rites of the church to the stricken woman, afterwards dismissing his congregation. She was the widow of Nicholis Carouse who died March 1. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Guido, Meyersdale, Mario, with the U.S. Army in Mississippi and Rita, at home. She had been living in this country for 40 years, coming here from Italy. Funeral services were held in SS. Philip and James' Church, Tuesday, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Father Howard T. Miller officiating. Interment in the church cemetery under the direction of R.
