  MRS.  GEORGE CARTER
  
  Mrs. Carrie A. Carter, 85, of Garrett, died Oct. 19, 1975, in Frostburg
  Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 21, 1890, in Garrett, she was a daughter of
  the late Austin and Lydia (Burkholder) Christner and was the widow of
  George Carter.
  She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, where she had been Sunday
  School teacher and choir director, and was a charter member of Garrett
  American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the
  Garrett Volunteer Fire Department.
  Surviving are two sons, William and George Carter, of Beaver Falls; two
  daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Zeller, Frostburg; and Mrs. Ruth Hall of Horsham,
  Pa.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
  Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church
  with Rev. J. David Menchhofer officiating.  Interment in Highland Cemetery,
  Garrett under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale.
