Born Sept. 29, 1914 in Cumberland, Md. Daughter of the late Leonard Mason and Eva (Hartline) Carter. Also preceded in death by brother, Robert C. Carter Sr., and sister, Betty Carter Coleman. Survived by nephews: Robert C. Carter, Alington, Va.; Peter C. Coleman, Champaign, Ill.; Chris M. Carter, Menlo Park, Calif.; nieces: Mrs. John (Carey) Stanhaus, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. William (Amy) Canova, Flower Mound, Texas. Also a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. 1937 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College. Retired in 1967 as the executive director of the Somerset County Board of Assistance. Member of Epicopalian Church, DAR and Daughters of the American Confederacy. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Somerset County Memorial Park, with the Rev.
