  ALVIN S. CARVER
  
  Alvin S. Carver, 74, Berlin RD 3, died Feb. 16 in Meyersdale Community
  Hospital.  He was born August 16, 1899, in Brothersvalley Township, a son of
  Jacob P. and Lizzie Walker Carver.  
  He was preceded in death by twin sisters in infancy and a grandson, Richard
  Flick, on Dec. 25, 1973.
  Surviving are his wife, the former Jessie I. Miller: a daughter, Mrs.
  Robert (Dorothy E.), Flick, Berlin RD 3; four grandchildren and four great
  grandchildren.
  He was a brother of Clarence G. Carver, Berlin RD 3, and Russell O. Carver,
  Sunbury.
  He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Roxbury; the IOOF of
  Berlin, the FOE of Somerset and the Berlin Lions Club.
  A well known farmer of Brothersvalley Township, Mr. Carver worked for 33
  years with the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service and served
  35 years as a forest fire warden.
  Services were conducted Feb. 19 in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, the Rev.
  Herald V. Seese officiating.  Interment in the Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
