Carver, 72, died suddenly at his home in Berlin, Tuesday night, Oct. 14. He was a leading farmer of Brothersvalley Twp. for many years, and a salesman of farm machinery. Some years ago he retired from farming and moved to his late home in Berlin. He was an active member of the Roxbury Reformed Church. He was the eldest son of the late Henry and Amanda Mowry Carver. He is survived by his wife, Ida Hillegas Carver, and two daughters, Ray, wife of Howard W. Schmucker of Berlin R.D. 1, and Helen, wife of Millard Lowery, of North Canton, Ohio; also by nine grandchildren; a brother, H. W. Carver of Berlin R.D. 1, and four sisters - Mrs. Harry H. Miller, Berlin R.D. 2, Mrs. Peter Bongiovanni, Mrs. Rebecca Miller and Mrs. Ida Dayton, all of Berlin. Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m., at his late home, Rev. Arthur J. Miller officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, October 23, 1947
