He was born in Husband on May 5, 1926, the son of Charles and Louise Skaptauckas. The youngest of 12 children, he graduated from Somerset High School in 1947 and was the first married veteran to return to that school and complete his entire senior year. Survivors include his former wife, Anna Mae (Brubaker) Carver, Bigfork, Mont.; a son, Val Carver, Collinsville, Ill.; and two daughters: Lou Ann Carver, Spokane, Wash.; and Robanna Brosten, Bismarck, N.D. One son preceded him in death. In 1987 he married Shizuko Malone of Tacoma, Wash. and is survived by her there and the family at home. Mr. Carver was a career soldier and served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. He saw combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he was employed by Continental Plastics of Tacoma, Wash. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. His ashes were interred at the Fort Lewis Cemetery with full military honors. Daily American, April 25, 1987 [C0175]
