Patriot St., Somerset died at 5 p.m. Nov. 23 at Montefiore University Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Casas was born July 2, 1927 in Rockwood, the daughter of Charles Franklin and Mabel (Bittner) Weimer. She graduated from Somerset High School and attended Westminister College where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in music education. Charlotte studied and taught extensively in Costa Rica and Mexico. She married Jose Casas and lived in Mexico for more than 10 years. Upon returning to Somerset she reentered the teaching profession and taught at Shanksville-Stonycreek School. Mrs. Casas opened Penna-Mex Travel Agency and has been promoting education through travel for more than 15 years. She has been an active member of the N.E.A., P.S.E.A., Penn. Assoc. of School Retirees, Somerset County Retired Public School Employee's Assoc. and the Somerset County Literacy Council. Charlotte is survived by her two sons, David Paul Casas of Somerset and Alan Charles Thomas of Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Casas was a member of the First United Methodist Church, 149 West Patriot St. Somerset. The Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at the First United Methodist Church. Daily American, November 25, 1995 [C0177]
