Born March 25, 1914, in Boswell. Son of the late Matteo and Concetta (Cassisi) Cascio. Also preceded in death by first wife, Jeanne Marie (Rill) Cascio, who died on March 17, 1977; a daughter, Jeanne Cascio; brothers Russell H. Cascio and John Cascio, and sister, Rosie Cascio. Survived by second wife, the former Cynthia Jean Schrock, and these children: Judge John M. Cascio, married to the former Donna Szewczyk, Somerset; Mary Ann Cascio, New York City, N.Y.; Attorney James R. Cascio and R. Michael Cascio, both of Somerset; grandchildren: Elizabeth Cascio, Jeanne and John J. Cascio, Michael J. Cascio. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School for 40 years. 1932 graduate of Somerset High School; 1936 summa cum laude graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, where he received the Williamson Medal; 1939 graduate of Dickinson School of Law. Major in the U.S. Army during World War II. Retired attorney and senior partner for Fike, Cascio and Douse Law Offices of which he was a co-founder with Attorney Paul E.C. Fike and continued, with Attorney Robert I. Boose. Director emeritus of Somerset Trust Co. He was honored in 1991 as a 50-year member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He was active in Democratic Party politics. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will he conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
