Garrett St., Somerset, passed away June 23, 2003 at Somerset Hospital. Born May 23, 1915 in Somerset. Son of the late George and Agnes (Fleming) Casebeer. Preceded in death by parents, brother Fleming "Pete" Casebeer, and sisters Inza Morgan and Margret Yoder. Survived by wife the former Helen Saylor Casebeer, Somerset; son, Larry E. Casebeer married to the former Bonnie Ramer, Hershey; several nieces and nephews, and a special niece Christine Barclay of Somerset. Retired B&O Brakeman. World War I veteran of U.S. Army 29th Division which landed on Normandy Beach Head on D-Day. Previous to Army duty, he served three years in the U.S Coast Guard. Member of Post 181 Samuel S. Crouse Post American Legion, Somerset. Member of Post 154 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Somerset. Graduate of Somerset High School Class of 1933. A 10-gallon donor of blood to the American Red Cross. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel, Rev. Susan Yatta officiating. Friends received at the chapel prior to the memorial service. Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, in charge of arrangements.
