Casey, 75, of North Center Avenue Somerset, died July 25, 1974 in the Siemon Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 12, 1898 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late John B. and Sadie Bell Sipe Gastiger. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. Casey Sr., and by a brother, Dr. Ernest Gastiger. Survived by two children, Mrs. Eileen Francis of Greensboro, N.C., a son James A. Jr. of Pittsburgh and two grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Trinity Chapter O.E.S. and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She was a former teacher at Somerset High School and was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare when she had served as the county supervisor. In 1962, she was voted Woman of the Year by the B.P.W. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Richard Shellenberger officiating. Interment in Husband Cemetery.
