Born June 27, 1916, in Clymer, son of John and Mary (Katz) Casper. Preceded in death by parents; son, Richard, two sisters and a brother. Survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Mary Yonish; sons, John "Butch," at home, and Robert, married to the former Valerie Swartzwelder, Lincoln Highway, Stoystown; grandson, Aaron, and brother, Pete of Stoystown. A retired coal miner with Solar Fuel Co. for 25 years. World War II Army veteran, having served in the Pacific and recipient of the Bronze Star medal. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Samuel J. Weible officiating. Interment, Otterbein Cemetery, Wilbur. Memorial contributions may be given to Otterbein U.M. Church, Wilbur Road, Stoystown, 15563. Graveside military services by Menoher Post 155, VFW, Ritual Team.
