Cassel, 87, Berlin, died Sept. 3, 1988, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born April 18, 1901, in Dauphin County, son of Martin and Jennie Cassel. Preceded in death by parents, brother Floyd, and two infant brothers. Survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Murray. His death ends a marriage union of 62 years. He received degrees from Clarion University and the University of Pittsburgh. He was the former chief administrator of several school districts for 35 years, including the last 22 years in the Berlin-Brothersvalley School District. He was a member of Trinity U.C.C., Berlin, and the oldest member of the Berlin Future Farmers of America. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, BERLIN, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Carl Schwarm and the Rev. Ralph Mills officiating.
