Born Nov. 18, 1927 in Ridgeley, W.Va. Daughter of Jeremiah Franklin and Martha Ellen (Chaney) Monnett. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Joseph, Frank, Norman, William, Edward, Harold and Robert Monnett. Survived by these children: William J. of Plainfield, Ill.; Ruth E. Hutzell, Fairhope; Roger L. Sr. and Alfred L., both of Berlin, and Edward E. of Schellsburg; grandchildren: Ronald, Russell and Renee Persuhn, and Dawn, Roger Jr., Angie, Ryan, Steven, Christina, Kerry and Becky Caton, and great-grandsons, Justin Caton and Ian Sayler. Sister of Evelyn Coughenour, Tennessee; Melvin Monnett, Maryland; Dorothy Glessner, Friedens; Anna Shippey, Boswell, and John Monnett of Ohio. Member of Heritage Baptist Church, Friedens. Former member of Plainfield (Ill.) Congregational Church. Longtime member of Berlin VFW Auxiliary. Past director of social activities at Coleman Towers, Somerset. Loved to crochet and do a variety of crafts. She enjoyed playing bingo and having family gatherings, especially at Christmas. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Russell B. Kessler.
