Cessna, 76 of Meyersdale, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born August 4, 1931 in Barrelville, MD, son of the late Perry F. and Aretta M. (Pryor) Cessna. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Dorothy O'Baker, Shirley Witt and Betty Brant. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois J. "Toots" (Robinette) Cessna, whom he married May 27, 1955; daughter, Julie A. Deist and husband Brian, Meyersdale; three grandchildren: Seth, Sydney and Sam Deist, all at home; sister, Marlyn O'Baker and husband Jerry, Barrelville; three brothers: John Cessna, Barrelville; Thomas Cessna and wife Anita, Wellersburg; Danny Cessna and wife Kelly, Mount Savage, Md.; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cessna was a 1949 graduate of Beall High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 10 years. He retired from PPG Industries, where he was a glasscutter, in 1988 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Kennells Mills Sportsmen's Club and the Barrelville Outdoor Club. He was active in the Bi-state and Penn-Mar Baseball League. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman. A funeral service was conducted at the home of his daughter, 4670 Glencoe Rd., Meyersdale with Pastor Michael Swick officiating. CESSNA, Robert E. 06/14/08 Daily American Robert E.
