  Vincent J. Chackan Sr., 94, Acme RD 1, died Dec. 6, 1986.  Born Mt.
  Pleasant Township Sept. 28, 1892.  Preceded in death by wife, Viola
  (Palmer) Chackan in 1977.  Surviving are the following children: Domer,
  Vincent Jr. and Gay, all of Acme; Mrs. Allan (Thelma) Shafer, Mrs. Raymond
  (Elvira) Kinneer, Mrs. Harry (Wilda) Coffman, Mrs. Reed (Iva) Kinneer, all
  of Acme; Mrs. Fred (Beatrice) May, Stahlstown; Mrs. Lugene May, Donegal; 55
  grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren.  Friends received at the Jay A.
  Hoffer Funeral Home in Norvelt, Monday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service 11
  a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Forrest Rowles.  Interment,
  Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
