Chalk, 78, of 208 Broadway, Berlin, died March 31, 1981, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born March 27, 1903, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Joseph W. and Laura (Debaugh) Chalk; also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Mae Mankamier; a daughter, Mrs. James (Dolly) Baughman, and two sons, Greg and Gary, all of Berlin; also four grandchildren: Michelle, Christina, Deborah and Nicole Baughman of Berlin; a sister, Mrs. Garland (Edna) Galloway, Vineland, N.J. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Berlin Volunteer Fire Co. Before his retirement, he was a case worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
