Chamer Jr., 52, of Kaufman Church Road, Davidsville, died unexpectedly June 13, 2001, at UPMC Lee Regional, Johnstown. Born Aug. 17, 1948, in Johnstown. Son of James J. Sr. and Mary (Updyke) Chamer. Survived by parents, Johnstown; wife of 30 years, the former Jeanne Telenko; children, Jeffery, married to Mary Castro, Detroit, Mich., James J. III, married to Kimberly Wilson, Elkton, Md., and Jessica at home; grandsons, Jeffery Allan Chamer and Austin Michael Chamer; sister, Virginia, wife of Jack Stephenson, and brother, Leo, both of Johnstown; mother- and father-in-law, James and Dora Telenko, Jerome; and numerous other relatives and friends. 1968 graduate of Johnstown High School. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church Davidsville, and Johnstown Local #1419 Carpenters Union. A union carpenter for 28 years. U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam War. Avid NASCAR fan and hunter. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Friday.
