  LAWRENCE H. CHANEY
  
  Lawrence H. Chaney, 70, of 159 West Main Street, died September 5, 1984, at
  Frostburg Community Hospital, Maryland.
  Born in Avilton, he was a son of the late Walter Chaney and Alice
  (Whiteman) Chaney.
  He was a retired employee of the Garrett County Roads Department with 35
  years of service.
  Surviving are his widow, Nellie (Wolford) Chaney; a stepson, William H.
  Hawkins, Frostburg; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Crowe, Avilton; Mrs. Marie
  Bennett, Mrs. Hazel Robertson, Mrs. Naomi Edsall, and Miss Vera Chaney, all
  of Frostburg; two brothers, the Rev. Connell Chaney, Grantsville, Maryland;
  and Paul Chaney, Frostburg; and three grandchildren.
  Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home where services were
  conducted by the Rev. Harry H. Patterson and the Rev. Connell T. Chaney. 
  Interment, Frostburg Memorial Park.
  Pallbearers were Robert Robertson, Jack Burner, Harry Lancaster, Kenny
  Weaver, Walter Sonneberg and Michael Taccino.
