Chaney, 59, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, December 2. Born October 29, 1917, at Patterson Creek, W. Va., he was the son of the late Alvin Chaney and Amy (Twigg) Chaney. Mr. Chaney was a borough foreman and a member of Hyndman Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Shirley (Shroyer) Chaney; four sons, Eugene Chaney, Searbro, W. Va.; William Chaney, Silver Spring, Md., Kevin Chaney and Roger Chaney, both at home; six daughters, Mrs. Violet Thomas, Hyndman; Bonnie Chaney and Brenda Chaney, at home; Mrs. Darlene Emerick, LaVale, Md.; Mrs. Patsy Logue, Meyersdale; Mrs. Sharon. Shroyer, Hooversville; three brothers, Henry Chaney, Buffalo Mills; Joseph Chaney, Garrett; Charles Chaney, Berlin; five sisters, Mrs. Alma Ohler, Berlin; Miss Slonda Chaney, and Miss Ruth Chaney, both of Buffalo Mills RD [?], Mrs. Elsie Benning, Fairhope; Mrs. Judy Nicholson, Berlin, and 14 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted Sunday with the Rev. Leroy Logsdon and the Rev. James Ryan officiating. Interment in Comps Cemetery.
