Born in Rostraver Township on Nov. 16, 1943, he is the son of the late Ella Mae (Foster) Chapman. He is survived by his wife Dessia Lewis Chapman; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Jennefer Chapman of Smithton, Eric Chapman of Pricedale; daughter, Denise Chapman of Smithton; two brothers, John Chapman and his companion, Kathy Zebell of Torrington, Conn., William Chapman and his companion, Susie Joseph of West Newtown, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Donald Nowakowski of Rostraver Township, Freda and Fred Allen of Rostraver Township; Linda and William Sinclair of Lambertville, N.J., and Pam and Mark Shepler of Perryopolis, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chapman was a 1961 graduate of Rostraver High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a carpenter for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Fells United Methodist Church, Rostraver Township and the Rostraver Sportsmen's Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home, 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. William Hoffman officiating. Interment, Horn's Cemetery, Marianna.
