Born Jan. 1, 1919, in Conemaugh, a son of Andrew Sr. and Borbola (Akos) Chasar Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John, Alex, Andrew Jr., Steve, Louis and William. He was the last member of his immediate family. Survived by a sister-in-law, Sharlet Chasar, Hooversville; nieces and nephews, Donna and Pete Hanchar, Bob and Joe Chasar, John and Sally Chasar, Verna and Jack Gaudlip, Dwight and Ann Chasar and Elmer Chasar. Charles was retired from Somerset State Hospital. He was a former employee of Baker-Whitley Coal Co. and Hungarian Federation Insurance Co. He is a member of St. Paul's UCC, Stoystown and a former member of St. Paul's UCC, Somerset, the Quilters and Knotters, the Hooversville and Jenner Rod and Gun clubs and HRFA. He was a 45-year member of ABS Bible-A-Month Club. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m.Thursday. The Rev. John Emig officiating.
