Born April 17, 1909, in Hooversville, son of Andy Sr., and Borbala (Akos) Chasar. Preceded in death by parents, his wife, the former Ida Helsel, brothers, Andy Jr., John, Alex, William, and Steve. Survived by daughters: Edna Greathouse of Windber, Charlotte Nelson of Orlando, Fla., grandson, Donald Greathouse married to the former Sheran Martin of Stoystown RD 2, great-grandson, D. J. Greathouse, and a number of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Brother of Charles Chasar of Hooversville. Retired after 40 years as a coal miner at Stinman Coal and Coke, Johnstown. Member of UMWA local 1023, Central City, and Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville where service will be held 11 a.m. Monday Rev. Glenn E.
