She was born on July 18, 1935, to Henry H. and Lulu Belle (Landis) Shockey in Berlin. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Betty Lou Shockey and Jean Gindlesperger. Sarah is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Cheminant; daughter, Connie (Paul) Stanton; grandsons, Austin and Nathan Stanton; son, Mark (Cali) Cheminant, granddaughters, Kayley, Jenna and Gabriella Cheminant; siblings, Lillian Yoder, Painesville, Ohio; Henry (Kathleen) Shockey, Sewickley; Grace (Joe) Svonavec, Rockwood; Ruth (the late Nicholas) Drab, Hudson, Ohio; Marie (Richard) Powell, Grand Junction, Colo.; plus many nieces, nephews and their children. Sarah was: a little sister, big sister, good student, hard worker, friend, artist, aunt, traveler, wife, homemaker, gourmet, lover, mother, mentor, Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, adventurer, counselor, grandmother, great-aunt, Eucharistic minister and devout Christian. She will be terribly missed. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 624 West Lennox St., Midvale, Utah. A Rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. Friday also at the church where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Committal service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and 'T' Street. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons. It was Sarah's wish that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah or to the Colorectal Cancer Coalition (ccc.org).
