  Elaine Childs, 74, of Rockwood RD 3 died June 9, 1998, in Conemaugh
  Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Rockwood.  A
  daughter of the late Leonard L. and Louise B. (Critchfield) Romesburg. 
  Also preceded in death by husband, Richard L. Childs, on Dec. 27, 1997. 
  Survived by a sister, Audrey K. Salay, Naples, Fla.; two nieces, Susan B.
  Myer, Somers Point, N.J., and Carol L. Stall, Raleigh, N.C., and a nephew,
  Charles W. Salay, Terre Haute, Ind.  Member of the Rockwood United Church
  of Christ.  Graduate of the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Nursing School and
  retired nursing supervisor at Meyersdale Hospital.  Friends will be
  received from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Thursday) in Robert H. Halverson Funeral
  Home, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m.  Friday, Rev. Mark Bender
  officiating.  Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Rockwood.
