Chizmar, 72, of West Baker Whitley Road, Hooversville, died June 28, 2002 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born Aug. 14, 1929 in Shade Township, son of Michael and Mary (Waltos) Chizmar. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 44 years, the former Helen E. Maydak, April 7, 1992; infant daughter Karen; and infant son John. Survived by daughters Sandra L. Chizmar, at home, and Debora A., wife of Victor Miller, Hooversville RD; grandchildren Ashley, Kristie, Brooke and Zachary Miller; and sister Helen Whitmor, Las Vegas, Nevada. Member of St. John The Baptist Orthodox Church, Conemaugh, U.M.W.A., Jerome Post 802 American Legion and Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club. Life member of the D.A.V., Army Veteran of World War II, retired coal miner from the former Island Creek Coal Company, Tire Hill. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where Parastas will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and be continued immediately at St. John the Baptist Church, the Very Rev. Arch Priest George Johnson officiating.
