"Chris" Christner, 59, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord Oct. 10, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. A son of the late Clyde and Belva (Burkholder) Christner. He was also preceded in death by life-long friend Bobby Hoover, who passed away last week. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Donna L. Miller, and four daughters: Kerri, wife of Brian Liedy, Rawlings, Md.; Kelly, wife of Michael Gross, Somerset; Laurie, wife of Steven Sredy, Berlin; and Heidi, wife of Darrell Klink Jr., Cairnbrook. Also survived by 12 grandchildren: Justin, Lindsay, and Kelsey D'Atri, Hillary and Tanner Liedy, Caitlin Fritzius, Ali and Michael Gross Jr., David Schafer, Steve Sredy Jr., Hogan Beal, and Matthew Klink. A brother of Clyde W. "Mush" Christner Jr., Garrett, and Janie Ohler, Shanksville. Cary was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Maple City Archers, Meyersdale, Masonic Lodge and several hunting camps. He retired June 1, 1995 from Bell Atlantic Phone Co. in Cumberland with 30 years of service. He loved to walk through the community and ride his bicycle on the trail. He loved everything about his life in Meyersdale. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor David Fett[?] officiating.
