Born January 23, 1921 in Garrett, PA. A son of the late Jacob H. and Edna L. (Haer) Christner. Also preceded in death by his wife the former Helen M. Haer; sister, Hazel Hoover; and brother, Sprawls Christner. Survived by daughters: Carolyn A. Walker, Ebensburg; and Sara J., wife of Rodney Putman, Rockwood. Four grandchildren: Michael Lane, Craig Lane, Rhonda (Putman) Seese, and Todd Putman; and six great-grandchildren: Olivia, Samantha, Abigail, and Ellie Lane, and Carson and Connor Seese. A brother of: Miriam Stephens, Somerset; Barbara Meyers, Meyersdale; Thomas Christner, Garrett; Arlene Houston, Chardon, OH: Mach Christner, Meyersdale; Nancy Stoner, Naples, FL; and Mary Hanks, Winchester, VA. "Kosh" was a retired employee of the Western Maryland Railroad with 41 Years of service. He was an avid golfer and bicyclist. A member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Garrett, with the Rev. Shimer Darr officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Garrett. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in Garrett, or the Windber Hospice.
