  September 6, 1923 - October 29, 2004
  
  Helen M. Christner, 81, of Garrett, went to be with her Lord and Savior
  Friday, October 29, 2004, at Somerset Hospital.
  Born September 6, 1923, in Summit Twp., she was a daughter of the late
  Earl T. and Elsie (Walters) Haer.
  She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard C. Hoover; and
  these brothers and sisters: Eleva Haer, Aletha Haer, JoAnn Burkholder,
  Harold Haer, Floyd Haer, and Robert Hoover.
  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harold D. Christner; and two
  daughters: Carolyn A. Walker, Ebensburg; and Sara, wife of Rodney Putman,
  Rockwood. Also four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a
  sister of: Phyllis Vought, Ohio; James Hoover, Soughtington, Ohio; and
  Norval Hoover, Garrett.
  Friends were received Sunday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale.
  Funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mt. Tabor Lutheran
  Church, Garrett, with the Rev. Glenn Foster officiating. Interment,
  Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
  Memorials may be made to the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, Garrett.
  Arrangements were by the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Inc., Meyersdale.
