Christner, 80, Pittsburgh, died April 8, 2008, at his residence. Born Nov. 27, 1927, in Somerset, he was the son of Howard and Martha Mostoller Christner. Preceding him in death were parents; his wife, Mildred W. Christner, who died on Jan. 25, 2008; and two sisters. Surviving are his daughter, Carol Christner, Saxonburg; and his sister, Dorothy Alton, Columbus, Ohio. He was a self-employed land developer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenshaw. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home Inc., 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Fox Funeral Home Inc. The Rev. Blair Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Somerset County Memorial Park.
