    John W. Christner, 67, Laurel Crest Manor, formerly of Dunlo, died Oct.
  3, 1987, at the manor.
    He was born May 7, 1920, in Berlin, son of Frank and Maggie (Pletcher)
  Christner.
    He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Eva; and brother, George.
    He is survived by sons, Russell and Steven, both of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.,
  and granddaughter, Tiffany.  He was a brother of Sadie Marie Housel,
  Meyersdale; Margaret Albright, Silver Spring, Md.; Clyde, Morrisville; Emma
  Housel, Meyersdale; and Dorothy Ohler, Dunlo.
    He was a veteran of World War II; member of VFW.
    Arrangements were by George Funeral Home, Salix. Funeral and burial
  arrangements at convenience of family.
