Christner, 87, of Salisbury RD 1, died November 8, 1984, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born August 20, 1897, at Lagrange, Indiana. He was the son of David and Elizabeth (Burlingcourt) Christner. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Goldie O'Neal. He is survived by his wife Edna (Miller) Christner and sons: Menno, of Wawaka, Indiana; David, of Lagrange, Indiana; Christian, of Shipshewana, Indiana; Amos, of Huntsville, Alabama; Samuel, of Nappanee, Indiana; John, of Stockton, California; Levi, of Goshen, Indiana; Arthur, of Topeko, Indiana. Also daughters: Mrs. Lizzie Ann Miller, of Goshen, Indiana; Mrs. Sue Christner, of Millersburg, Indiana; Mrs. Mary Ann Fereva, of Manteca, California; Mrs. Edith Lyons, of Lagrange, Indiana. Stepsons: Joseph Slabaugh, Grantsville RD 1, Maryland; Ruffs Slabaugh, Trenton, Kentucky. Stepdaughters: Mrs. Anna Zook, Meyersdale RD 1; Mrs. Lizzie. Yoder, Salisbury RD 1: Mrs. Ida Bender, Catlett, Virginia; also 37 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church of Summit Mills. Services were held November 9, at the Summit Mills Amish Church with the Rev. Noah J. Yoder officiating and on November 11, at Lagrange, Indiana.
