She had been ill for several months. A daughter of Levi and Caroline (Hoffman) Gauntz, Mrs. Christner was born on February 12, 1876. Surviving are her aged father, who resides here, and these children: Edward Seibert, Salisbury; Mrs. Joseph Romesburg, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Lee, mentioned. She was a sister of Joseph W. and Edward Gauntz, both of Meyersdale; Albert C. Gauntz, Garrett; William H. Gauntz, Meyersdale; Earl Gauntz, Cumberland, Md., and Walter Gauntz, Meyersdale. Mrs. Christner was twice married, both of her husbands preceding her in death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon. A brief service was held at the Lee home at 1 o'clock, followed by services at 1:30 o'clock in the Zion Lutheran Church, by Rev. Howard K. Hilner. Interment was in the Lichty Cemetery, Summit Township, under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, Meyersdale mortician. Meyersdale Republican, April 17, 1941
