URIAS J. CHRISTNER

  Urias J. Christner, 77, died at his home in Greenville Township Saturday 
evening, Jan. 30.  He was born in Garrett, the son of the late Jonas and 
Caroline Mankameyer Christner.
  Six sons and three daughters survive: Orlin Christner, Pittsburgh; Carl, 
Meyersdale; Stewart, Canonsburg; Urie, Aliquippa; Paul, Meyersdale; Harry, U.S. 
Army in Africa; Mrs. Freda Forest, Meyersdale; Mrs. Eula Kapphan, Mt. 
Washington; Mrs. Lucy Wright, Salisbury. 
  Also surviving are three brothers and one sister: Carl Christner, Sand Patch; 
Rufus, Garrett; Jonas, Farrington, Wyoming; Mrs. Ada Wetzel, Omaha, Nebraska.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Main Street Brethren Church, 
Meyersdale, with Rev. Kenneth Ashman, pastor, officiating.  Burial in the 
Meyersdale Union Cemetery directed by H. R. Konhaus, local mortician.
