CHRISTOPH Bible Salesman Fatally Injured Fourth Victim of Disasters at Cupp's Crossing to Die in Two Weeks William P. Christoph, was fatally injured when a car he was driving was struck by a Baltimore & Ohio passenger train at Cupp's Crossing on the Somerset- Stoyestown road, about 9 o'clock Monday morning. He died at 8 o'clock Tuesday night in the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, where he was taken Tuesday afternoon from the Somerset Community Hospital. Attendants at the Community Hospital at first thought that he had merely suffered a broken right leg, but later it was discovered that he was suffering from internal injuries and an operation was immediately necessary. The man was placed in an ambulance and rushed to the hospital at Johnstown, where the operation was performed, but he did not rally, and expired. Christoph, who was a book agent selling Bibles, was driving toward Somerset at the time of the accident. His home was in DuBois. When the engine of the train struck the car, Christoph was thrown a considerable distance from the car which was completely demolished. Christoph is the fourth man to die from injuries in crashes at Cupp's Crossing within two weeks. Meyersdale Republican, January 16, 1930
