Felerick, all Slavs. The men were seated in one room, and it is reported that one of them was attempting to dry a quantity of powder at the stove when four kegs of the stuff let go. The side of the building was blown out and the six victims were found unconscious on the floor. They were placed in neighboring houses and attended by a quartette of Windber physicians and later removed to Memorial hospital where John Chupa, John Madis and M. Felerick have since died as a result of their injuries. There is said to be but little hope for the recovery of the others. Cambria Freeman, Ebensburg, Pa., Friday, January 23, 1903
